Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust will debut Shokai Bushido, a limited one-time release, at Cigartopia 2026 on Saturday, Nov. 14, at Cigars Daily headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona. The cigars will first be sold in person at the event, with any remaining stock expected to go to the Cigars Daily website. They come in 10-count bundles, while pricing, size, production numbers, factory and the rest of the blend have not been announced. Steve Saka has said he is still working out the price.
The cigar uses an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper and grew out of Saka's blending work for Takumi, a very limited production blend he may showcase at the 2027 PCA Convention & Trade Show. One Takumi trial missed his target but turned out to be an excellent smoke on its own, so Dunbarton partnered with Cigars Daily and Cigar Dojo to release it as a single batch. Saka compared it to store exclusive drops like Dondurma, Khan 'Alam and Halligan, and said he has no idea whether it will ever be made again.
Saka began working with Ecuadorian Sumatra about three years ago, and the leaf has already appeared on CANH (Cigar Association of New Hampshire) Fiddlehead and the DTT 10th Jubilee. The name translates to "an introduction to the way of the warrior." According to The Cigar Guys, Saka admits the wrapper looks a bit rustic but says the flavor is outstanding, and as reported by Halfwheel, Dunbarton filed a trademark application for Takumi in July.
