Tatuaje Old Man and the C Monster Shipping Next Week
Tatuaje is preparing to ship its latest limited-edition release, the Old Man and the C Monster, next week. This special packaging pairs a 7 x 44 lonsdale with a culebra in the company’s all-Nicaraguan Creature blend.
Background on the Concept and Blend
The “Old Man and the C” idea first appeared in 2011 using the El Triunfador blend. It returned in 2012 with the Black Label (Private Reserve) and again in 2021 with Fausto. Earlier versions typically featured a thinner 7½ x 38 lancero alongside the culebra. For this Monster edition, Tatuaje switched to the slightly thicker 7 x 44 lonsdale while keeping the distinctive culebra format.
The Creature blend itself joined the broader Monster Series family in 2021 as part of the Monster Mash sampler. It later appeared in the Monster Smash collection and received its first standalone full-size release earlier in 2026 as the Creature from Tatuaje (a 6⅞ x 52 perfecto). Like previous versions, the blend uses Nicaraguan tobacco for the wrapper, binder, and filler, with no further details disclosed by the brand. Production takes place at My Father Cigars in Estelí, Nicaragua.
Packaging, Pricing, and Availability
Each coffin contains one lonsdale and one culebra. The culebra consists of three individual cigars twisted together that are intended to be smoked separately, bringing the total to four cigars per coffin. Pricing is $54 per coffin. Boxes hold six coffins (24 individual cigars total) at an MSRP of $324.Production is limited to 1,300 boxes, equating to 7,800 coffins. The release is allocated to qualifying authorized Tatuaje retailers and is expected to begin shipping in the coming week.
What we can expect
Fans of Tatuaje’s Monster Series and the earlier Old Man and the C releases will recognize the playful packaging and limited nature of this drop. The combination of a classic longer vitola with the traditional culebra format offers both a familiar smoking experience and a collectible presentation. Given the relatively small production run and the ongoing popularity of Creature-related releases, availability at retail is likely to be limited once the cigars arrive.Check with your preferred authorized Tatuaje retailer for allocation details and exact arrival timing in your area. As with most Tatuaje limited editions, demand is expected to be strong among both regular smokers and collectors of the Monster Series lineup.
