E.P. Carrillo Dark Rituals 2026: A Fresh Take on a Familiar Name

Casa Carrillo has put the Dark Rituals name back into play for 2026, this time with a completely new blend built around Pennsylvania Broadleaf. The new Dark Rituals uses a Pennsylvania Broadleaf Maduro wrapper, a Connecticut binder, and Dominican fillers. Everything is rolled at the Casa Carrillo factory in the Dominican Republic. The cigars are box pressed and sit in the medium range. Ernesto Perez Carrillo put it this way: “Dark Rituals gave us the opportunity to work with Pennsylvania Broadleaf in a way that really lets its character come through. It brings depth and intensity to the blend, but what was most important to me was maintaining balance and smoothness from beginning to end.”

Expect notes of dark cocoa, espresso, charred oak, and a little black pepper running through the smoke. The name first showed up on the 2011 Edicion Limitada and then on a 2015 exclusive line. Both of those used different leaves and different builds. This 2026 version stands on its own by putting Pennsylvania Broadleaf front and center with Connecticut and Dominican tobaccos behind it.

Right now it’s a retailer exclusive through Cigars International plus Cigar.com, Cigora, and Thompson Cigar. Boxes are already up and a few sizes are moving fast.
