Rocky Patel Brings Sapphire and New Half Corona Sizes to International Markets

Rocky Patel Premium Cigars is expanding its footprint at InterTabac 2026 in Dortmund, Germany, introducing the Sapphire blend to international markets for the first time and adding a new Half Corona format across three of its established lines in Europe, according to a report from Cigar Journal's Peter Gaudenzi.

Sapphire, a medium bodied blend built around an Mexican San Andrés wrapper, uses fillers grown on Rocky Patel's own farms in Estelí and Condega, Nicaragua. Patel describes the profile as a mix of dark chocolate, caramel, coffee, and espresso, with a lingering sweetness carrying through the smoke. The cigar debuted domestically at the 2026 PCA Convention & Trade Show in April, shipping to US retailers in four sizes shortly after, and is now being brought to international markets through this InterTabac introduction.

Alongside Sapphire, Rocky Patel is rolling out a new Half Corona format for three of its longstanding lines, aimed at smokers looking for a shorter session. The compact size will be offered for the Vintage 1999, which carries a seven year old Connecticut Shade wrapper and a creamy, mild profile; the Grand Reserve, a medium bodied cigar built on a corojo wrapper; and the Vintage 1990, known for its aged broadleaf wrapper. All three Half Coronas are being introduced specifically to the European market.

The moves continue a busy year for Rocky Patel, following the domestic rollout of Sapphire earlier in 2026 and the brand's continued expansion of its international distribution through events like InterTabac.
