Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust 10th Jubilee

Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust was founded in 2015 by Steve Saka, the former president and CEO of Drew Estate, as a small family company dedicated to blending without compromise. Named for the New Hampshire town of Dunbarton, DTT built its reputation on lines such as Sobremesa, Mi Querida, Sin Compromiso, and Umbagog, made at factories in Estelí, Nicaragua, including Joya de Nicaragua and Nicaragua American Cigars S.A. (NACSA).

The 10th Jubilee marks a decade of that work. Announced at the 2025 PCA Trade Show, it began reaching retailers in February 2026. Rather than a large figurado, Saka chose a 5 5/8 x 48 corona gorda, and the cigar is an ongoing production, though some retailers have described the initial run as limited. The blend pairs an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper (the company's first national release with that leaf) with a Mexican binder and Nicaraguan fillers from Condega, Estelí, Jalapa, and Ometepe, six tobaccos Saka had not used before. It is rolled at NACSA, the same factory that makes Mi Querida, and packed in understated 13-count boxes. Retailers describe it as medium-plus in body.

First Third

Some sweet notes on the prelight, earthy leather with a slightly sweetened pepper on the light. Some dark cherry notes on the retrohale, with earthy leather on the palate and finish. Lots of earthy leather coming out, with black coffee and pepper on the finish. The smoke is a little thinner than I would have hoped, but there is lots of flavor and a good amount of smoke. There's a very slight creamy nut coming through, but the flavor is mainly dominated by leather, pepper and some coffee notes. Leather is still the main note. Some light chocolate nuts are coming through as well, along with the dark cherry note from before. Slightly sweet coffee and leather on the finish.

Getting near the end of the first third, some floral notes are starting to come out and there's a slight sweetness on the finish. Still lots of leather and black coffee notes. The chocolate nut is coming out more at the end of the first third. So far it's a very smooth experience, which is interesting and slightly unexpected given the darker character of the cigar.

Second Third

Starting the second third, the leather is getting sweeter, and the coffee note continues with some cocoa and pepper on the finish. The creaminess from the first third is becoming a little stronger, creating a creamy chocolate note with some leather and pepper on the finish. Floral notes are coming out again, with a little more pepper than before. Still a creamy leather and black coffee note on the palate, with slight nutty notes as well.

Chocolate milk is coming through with a fruity note as well, some sort of peach pit or stone fruit. Creamy chocolate notes continue with some pepper here and there. Coffee is coming through stronger now. Leather continues to come out with the creamy chocolate and coffee notes, along with a slight stone fruit note and slight sweetness every now and then. Still very smooth.

Final Third

A cedar note has been hinted at in the second third, and it's starting to come out at the start of the final third. Creamy coffee notes continue, still very smooth, with slight cedar in the aroma as well. Cedar and coffee on the finish, still very creamy and smooth. Some coffee and cedar, with a little bit of pepper every now and then, is coming through as I get to the end of the second third.

The smoke is getting thicker in the final third, which is making the overall experience more enjoyable. Cedar is coming out stronger now, still with some creamy chocolate. Coffee and pepper on the finish. The pepper is starting to increase slightly nearing the end of the final third. Lots of cedar and some creamy chocolate notes, with coffee and pepper on the finish.
