Cigar.com Redirects to Cigora Tomorrow
Two weeks ago we covered Scandinavian Tobacco Group's plan to fold Cigar.com into Cigora. That change happens tomorrow, September 29, though some outlets reported it as today. Cigar Coop listed the effective date as September 28, while Cigar World and the redirect itself point to the 29th.
Starting tomorrow, traffic to Cigar.com will redirect to Cigora.com. The combined site will be branded "CIGORA presented by Cigar.com." STG says customer accounts and loyalty points will transfer automatically. The company also says the cigars and accessories previously sold on Cigar.com will remain available through Cigora, with Cigar.com shoppers gaining Cigora's wider assortment, exclusives, and updated rewards.
Cigar.com dates to 1996. It passed through Cigars International and Swedish Match before landing in STG's portfolio. Cigora launched in 2022 as STG's newer, community-first premium storefront. Matthew Pysher, Cigora's merchandising manager, framed the move as carrying the older brand's trust onto a newer platform rather than closing the door on it.
STG still runs several other U.S. direct-to-consumer sites, including Cigars International, CigarBid, Thompson Cigar, and PipesandCigars.com. This move simply collapses two overlapping catalogs onto one stack.
If you have a Cigar.com account, watch your email for details from STG, then log in at Cigora.com to confirm your points transferred. Bookmark changes and any first-login hiccups are the usual cost of these consolidations.
