Alec Bradley Adds Chunk Sumatra to Regular Lineup
Alec Bradley will add Chunk Sumatra to its Chunk series as a regular production cigar, according to a company press release circulated last week and reported by Cigar Journal, Cigar Dojo, Halfwheel, and Cigar Coop. Retail shipments are expected to begin in October 2026, with Halfwheel listing a start date of October 1.
Chunk began as a frontmark used on several Alec Bradley cigars before becoming a standalone line. Chunk Maduro and Chunk Shade already sit in that lineup. Chunk Sumatra becomes the third dedicated blend.
The press release describes an Ecuadorian Shade wrapper over a United States Broadleaf binder and filler tobaccos from the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, and Honduras. The cigars are made in Honduras. Cigar Coop identified the factory as Honduran American Tobacco S.A. halfwheel said the factory was not named in the initial announcement. The company calls the blend medium bodied and lists notes of dried fruit, spice, and cedar.
Bradley Rubin, brand ambassador for Alec Bradley, said in the press release: "Chunk has been one of our favorite recurring traditions, and we're excited to release the third dedicated Chunk cigar. Chunk Sumatra delivers the same big and bold smoking experience fans have come to love, but its smooth and nuanced profile offers remarkable quality; particularly at this approachable price point."
Three sizes are planned, all four inches long:
XL, 4 x 60, suggested retail $6.49
3XL, 4 x 66, suggested retail $8.49
4XL, 4 x 80, suggested retail $9.49
The XL and 3XL will ship in boxes of 20. The 4XL will ship in boxes of 18.
Cigar Coop noted that Chunk Sumatra appeared earlier this year in Alec Bradley's Fat Pack sampler before the company confirmed a full time release.
