Blackbird Cigar Co. Launches Limited Mockingbird Short Run

Blackbird Cigar Co. is preparing to release its Mockingbird Short Run, a limited edition cigar that commemorates ten years of individuality and innovation in the premium cigar market. Shipping is scheduled to begin on Monday, October 26.

As reported by Halfwheel, the cigar is inspired by the company’s Crow line but takes a distinct direction. It uses an Ecuadorian corojo wrapper, a Brazilian Cuban seed binder, and a filler blend of corojo and criollo 98 tobaccos grown in Nicaragua and Pennsylvania. The profile begins with notes of cedar, earth, and pepper before developing roasted coffee, toasted nuts, leather, and cocoa.

The Mockingbird Short Run is offered in a single 6 by 52 toro size. Pricing is $15 per cigar and $150 for a box of 10. Production is limited to 500 boxes, or 5,000 cigars total. All boxes have already been allocated to 37 retailers across the country. The cigars were rolled in the first quarter of 2025 at Tabacalera Los Robles in the Dominican Republic, home to Blackbird Dominicana.

Jonás Santana, CEO and co founder of Blackbird Cigar Co., stated in a press release that imitation has never been part of the company’s DNA. He noted that the brand was built to have its own voice and that Mockingbird serves as a reminder that inspiration can come from anywhere while identity must come from within.
