Caldwell Teases The Queen is Dead Cigar for Later This Month

Caldwell Cigar Co. has begun previewing its next release, The Queen is Dead, continuing the brand’s long running sequence of royal themed cigars that began more than a decade ago. According to reporting from Halfwheel, the company has used social media in recent weeks to signal the arrival of the new blend, which is slated to reach retailers later this month.

Robert Caldwell, the brand’s founder, has described the cigar as employing a Habano 2000 wrapper over Dominican fillers. He has indicated that smokers who enjoy the Long Live the Queen or Anastasia blends should find the new offering appealing. Those earlier lines established Caldwell’s reputation for distinctive flavor profiles and distinctive packaging, and The Queen is Dead is positioned as a logical continuation of that approach.

Details on size, pricing, and production volume have not yet been released, and the factory producing the cigars has not been disclosed. An inquiry to Laudisi Enterprises, which owns Caldwell Cigar Co., had not received an immediate response at the time of the Halfwheel report. The teaser nonetheless fits the company’s pattern of building anticipation for limited or special releases that complement its core portfolio.

Caldwell has remained active in the premium segment since its acquisition, and the upcoming release gives retailers and consumers another blend to evaluate as the year progresses.

TLDR: Caldwell Cigar Co. is teasing The Queen is Dead, a new blend that uses a Habano 2000 wrapper over Dominican fillers and is expected later this month, with founder Robert Caldwell comparing it to the company’s Long Live the Queen and Anastasia lines.
