Roma Craft Tobac Cromagnon Anthropology
RoMa Craft Tobac builds its reputation on small batch production and bold blending from its Nica Sueño factory in Estelí. The CroMagnon line stands as one of the brand’s earliest and most recognized series, drawing its name from prehistoric themes and delivering full bodied profiles that have defined the company since its early days. The Anthropology appears as a grand corona sized expression within that line, carrying forward the series’ focus on rich, rustic construction and consistent strength.

First Third
Earthy spices with a slight sweetness, light notes of leather and coffee on the finish, and a good amount of pepper through the retrohale. Leather is starting to come through stronger now, with some chocolate and woody notes. Halfway through the first third, the chocolate and leather are becoming more pronounced, with chocolate, pepper, and espresso on the finish. Dark cherry and dark chocolate notes come through with an earthy sweetness, and pepper and espresso on the finish. Coffee and espresso notes start to come out more as I get toward the end of the first third, and everything is coming out more with the chocolate. Nutty coffee on the finish with a slight pepper.
Interesting color ash
Second Third
Dark cherry and cedar start coming out prominently in the second third, with cedar and coffee on the finish. The leather is still a big part of the second third, but the dark cherry and cedar continue, with a good amount of nutty espresso on the finish. The aroma is absolutely wonderful. Halfway through the second third, the leather and pepper are starting to pick up a little more on the finish. A slight licorice flavor is coming through, with lots of cedar and some dark cherry, and more pepper on the finish compared to the first third. Near the end of the second third, there’s an almost pure leather note with pepper on the finish. Eventually some espresso and nutty notes came out on the finish as well. There’s leather, chocolate, and an increasingly bitter espresso note, which is not offensive but is descriptive of what’s been coming out in the flavor profile. Earthiness is coming out more prominently near the end of the second third, with cedar and some pepper on the finish.
Final Third
Leather and pepper are the main notes at the start of the final third, with cedar, leather, and light pepper on the finish. The earthiness is growing in the final third, as is the cedar note. There’s a slight dark chocolate on the finish. Earthiness continues to grow, with almost a barnyard note, plus dark chocolate and pepper on the finish. Pepper has continued to pick up since the second third. Earthy leather with black coffee on the palate, and black coffee, light cedar, and pepper on the finish. Pepper continues to come out in the final third, along with some other baking spices. Earthy leather and almost a peppermint patty sort of finish. Right at the end, lots of earthy leather and pepper.
