Scandinavian Tobacco Group has begun shipping a second release of the La Gloria Cubana Gran Legado, bringing back the limited edition that first appeared in 2024. The 2026 version keeps the original 7 3/4” x 62 figurado format and comes in boxes of 10. Pricing has climbed to $15.89 per cigar, or $158.90 per box, up from $14.99 per cigar for the debut. The cigar was released on November 2, 2026.
The blend is unchanged from the first edition. A U.S.-grown Connecticut broadleaf wrapper covers a Nicaraguan binder and a filler of Dominican and Nicaraguan tobaccos, and STG rates the strength as medium-full with notes of coffee and leather. Production takes place at General Cigar Dominicana in the Dominican Republic, in the separate rolling room known as El Credito.
Gran Legado was created as a tribute to the bunchers and rollers behind La Gloria Cubana. Only workers with at least 15 years of experience were allowed to make it, and each cigar wears a secondary band carrying the signature of the person who rolled it. Brand manager John Hakim said the company brought the cigar back because fans kept asking for it, and to keep telling the story of El Credito and the rollers who work there. As reported by Halfwheel, the original 2024 run was limited to 1,900 boxes of 10 cigars and began shipping that July.
