La Flor Dominicana Andalusian Bull 10th Anniversary Maduro Ships This Week
La Flor Dominicana is sending its Andalusian Bull 10th Anniversary Maduro to retailers this week, a limited-edition release that keeps the original cigar's unusual shape while swapping in a darker wrapper. According to Halfwheel, the company spent the past month teasing both the cigar and a movie it produced about the original Andalusian Bull.
The original cigar began when Litto Gomez took a trip to southern Spain and discovered a worn-down cigar mold with a unique shape. He brought the mold back, and the company replicated it before developing the brand. Tony Gomez, wanting to pay tribute to where the mold was found, came up with the name Andalusian Bull, which honors the region's bullfighting tradition. The original cigar is still sold today.
The anniversary edition keeps the same 6 1/2 inch perfecto, listed as 52/64, but replaces the original's Ecuadorian wrapper with a Connecticut broadleaf wrapper finished as maduro.
The binder and filler come from the company's 2016 crop grown on its La Canela farm in the Dominican Republic. In materials provided to retailers, the company said the new cigar "respects the blend of its predecessor, while offering a layer of depth and richness that creates a familiar yet distinctive smoking experience." It described the result as "a sweeter, richer, and darker Andalusian Bull," tying the wrapper choice to the brand's longtime love of Connecticut broadleaf and its mastery of maduro wrappers.
Production is limited to 5,000 boxes of ten cigars, or 50,000 cigars in total. Suggested retail is $35 per cigar and $350 per box. The packaging is radically different from the first release. The cigars are made at Tabacalera La Flor S.A. in the Dominican Republic. La Flor Dominicana has also shown retailers a new version of its Andalusian Bull ashtray, now circular instead of oval.
Shipping is scheduled to begin October 7, 2026.
