Gellis Family Saunter
Warped Cigars, founded by Kyle Gellis, expanded in 2024 with Gellis Family Cigars, a companion label still distributed by Warped. Saunter is the second line from that family project, following Marevas. It shipped in September 2024 as a single size robusto of five and a quarter inches by forty eight ring gauge. The cigar is produced at Tabacalera La Isla in the Dominican Republic and packed in boxes of twelve. Gellis chose the name for the unhurried pace the blend is meant to invite, and also as a nod to his Cane Corso who would saunter through the office.

Review
First Third
Cornbread aroma on the light, slight sweetness. Almost like a honey cornbread, with pepper on the retro. Creamy coffee notes on the pallet, with pepper on the retro and slightly on the finish. Lots of smoke, great draw and great burn line. Creamy almost honey hay notes, with pepper on the retro and finish. Medium finish clean finish. Very striking note of Berry, with cream and pepper following that up, coffee and cream on the finish. The slight sweetness comes out a little more with tanginess, still lots of creamy notes, slight cedar or Woody notes. Slight white pepper on the finish. Getting near the end of the first third, craving is still very consistent, Woody note or cedar note is coming out as well as a slight coffee and tanginess on the finish. Final note of of the first third is a fruity or Berry note, with a nutty note on the finish with coffee and cream.
Second Third
Second third starts off with lots of nutty and coffee notes, and the tanginess has grown since the first third. Lots of smoke still coming off the cigar, great burn line. Creaminess continues, it has washed out the tanginess from before, slight nutty coffee notes on the finish. Berry more fruity note is coming back with the creaminess that has been throughout the whole cigar. The Tang has settled down, and there's a nutty pepper on the finish. Pepper is starting to pick up, creaminess still consistent. The earthy hey note is coming out from before, with a slight sweetness and still some creaminess on the palate and on the finish. Getting near the end of the second third, the creaminess still continues, a strong roasted nuts note comes through with the creaminess, and a slight coffee and pepper on the finish.
Final Third
Cream continues in the final third, the roasted nuts continue as well, a slight sweetness develops on the finish. Creaminess continues, a slight mintiness is coming out as well. Cream and pepper on the finish. Cigar went out, but that might be due to the extreme humidity outside. Re-lit, same creamy notes, with more pepper and some earth. Slight vanilla note, but it is fleeting. Coffee, earth, and some pepper on the finish. Creamy notes continue wit earth and roasted nuts, pepper on the finish.
