Drew Estate Ships Four Pack Petacas for Six Liga Privada Cigars
Drew Estate has begun shipping a new grab and go packaging option for six of its Liga Privada offerings, according to a report from halfwheel. The four packs, called petacas, pull two sizes each from three established Liga Privada blends: No. 9, T52, and H99 Connecticut Corojo.
Each line is being offered in a Robusto measuring 5 by 54 and a Toro measuring 6 by 52, both housed in cardboard four count packaging. Pricing lands at $71.40 for the Robusto four packs and $75.40 for the Toro four packs across all three blends.
The format was first shown to retailers at the 2026 PCA Convention and Trade Show in New Orleans this past April, where Drew Estate founder Jonathan Drew Sann introduced the project with characteristically colorful commentary about the packaging design, crediting a member of his team he referred to as "the Wizard" for the finished product. Shipping was projected for June at that time, though the six vitolas have now started reaching stores.
Distribution is being kept exclusive to Drew Diplomat retailers, the company's network of authorized brick and mortar partners. Drew Estate has framed the limited rollout as a way to support physical cigar shops specifically, rather than opening the format to wider retail or online channels.
The company describes the goal as offering the same construction and flavor profile smokers already associate with Liga Privada, just in a smaller, more portable unit than a traditional box. No. 9 has built its reputation on a dark, oily Connecticut broadleaf wrapper over a Nicaraguan and Honduran filler blend, while T52 swaps in a stalk cut, and Cuban seed Connecticut wrapper. H99 Connecticut Corojo rounds out the three blends included in the new packaging.
