Cavalier Genève Ships Two New Small Batch Cigars
Cavalier Genève has replaced the four cigars that made up its Small Batch Series with two new releases. Founder Sébastien Decoppet told halfwheel in a text conversation that boxes of the Small Batch Lancero and Salomónes began shipping to stores this week.
The Salomónes measures 7 x 50/58 and costs $16.90 per cigar, with boxes of 10 priced at $169. The Lancero measures 7 x 38 and costs $13.20 per cigar, with boxes of 20 priced at $264. They take the place of the Black II Lancero, Black II Salomónes, White Series Lancero and White Series Salomónes, which have been discontinued.
The blend is new. According to halfwheel's earlier reporting, both cigars use a Honduran wrapper over a binder from Jalapa, Nicaragua, with filler tobaccos grown in Nicaragua and Paraguay. Like all Cavalier Genève cigars, they are made at the company's Fábrica Centroamericana de Tabaco S.A. in Danlí, Honduras.
Cavalier's announcement describes the reworked Small Batch program as two restricted productions per year, one Lancero and one Salomónes. In that announcement, Decoppet said the company had made a mistake by keeping these demanding shapes constantly available. In his view, that overlooked the uniqueness and skill they require, so the company chose to start over and go back to basics.
The Small Batch Series is now a broader category. Decoppet said at PCA 2026 that three of the four Project Broadleaf blends released last year, along with the Project 10th Anniversary, will also be part of the Small Batch section of the company's portfolio.
