Casa Carrillo Pledge Purple Robusto Set to Reach Retailers Next Week
Casa Carrillo will begin shipping a new robusto size in its Perez Carrillo Pledge Purple line to retailers next week, according to reporting by Patrick Lagreid at Halfwheel.
The addition measures 5 1/4 inches by 52 ring gauge and is box pressed. It carries the same blend used across the rest of the line. The wrapper is Connecticut grown Havana seed tobacco from Dunn and Foster, taken from the same crop that covered the original Pledge cigars at their 2020 debut. A Mexican binder sits beneath it, with fillers drawn from the Nicaraguan regions of Estelí, Condega, and Ometepe. All of the cigars are made at the Casa Carrillo factory in the Dominican Republic.
Suggested retail pricing:
16.50 dollars per cigar
165 dollars for a box of ten
Line details:
The robusto is the second format of Pledge Purple
It follows the 6 by 54 toro that reached stores in March
Both sizes are limited production, with boxes released in batches through the year
Details are drawn from Patrick Lagreid’s report at Halfwheel and from David Clough’s report at Cigar Aficionado.
