Avowed Cigar Co. is a boutique brand from Orange, California. It makes its cigars at Kelner Cigars in the Dominican Republic, where Klaas Kelner does the blending. Its first two core lines were The Vow, a statement of commitment, and New Dawn, a look toward the future. Hallowed Hands is the third, released in February 2026 to mark the company’s first anniversary. It is a tribute to the individuals and families who have shaped cigar making over centuries, and to the people who shaped Avowed’s own founders.
The line is built on an Ecuadorian Corojo wrapper, a first for the brand, over an Ecuadorian Habano binder. The fillers are Corojo 99, Criollo 98, Piloto Cubano and Pennsylvania Broadleaf, and the profile runs medium to full. It debuted in three sizes, a Corona Gorda, a Toro and the company’s first box pressed Robusto. Each humidor style box holds 15 cigars with 15 different bands, a nod to the unique fingerprints behind every handmade cigar.

First Third
Nutty sweet notes on the light. Pepper and roasted coffee show up on the finish. The wrapper is very oily. The first third is full of nutty notes with pepper and roasted coffee, and a slight creaminess starts to come through as well. Rotating notes of cream, spices and roasted coffee close out the first third.
Second Third
For a moment I swear I got a slight dried fruit note that was almost banana like, before it went back to nutty roasted coffee with cream on the finish. Dark cherry notes start to come out with the pepper, and the finish is cream and pepper. A cedar note arrives, with earthy pepper and a few creamy notes on the finish. Cedar becomes the more dominant note as the third goes on, with the creaminess and pepper carrying over from the first third.
Final Third
The final third starts with cinnamon and earthy pepper on the finish. The earthy notes come out more, and cinnamon appears a couple of times. There’s still a slight creaminess, but the pepper has definitely picked up, and there may be the slightest hint of dark chocolate, almost nonexistent. Cinnamon oatmeal cookie notes keep coming through along with plenty of pepper, and the finish stays slightly creamy and peppery.
