Perdomo Legacy Father & Son Limited release ships

What was supposed to be a fourth-quarter release is already landing in humidors. Perdomo Cigars has begun shipping the limited Legacy Father & Son series nationwide, at least a month ahead of the original schedule after a soft launch earlier this year at Two Guys Cigars in New Hampshire. The project is a direct collaboration between Nick Perdomo Jr. and his son Nicholas Perdomo III. It expands on the Legacy line that debuted the previous year and stands as one of the company’s few true limited editions. The foundation of all three cigars is a hybrid seed Nick Jr. developed that blends Habano and Cameroon genetics, grown under shade on the family’s Nicaraguan farms. Each of the three versions carries a different wrapper and reflects who led the blend:
Nick Perdomo Jr. created the Shade Grown, using the hybrid leaf as both wrapper and binder.
Nicholas Perdomo III developed the Maduro with a Nicaraguan Maduro wrapper over the same hybrid binder.
Father and son worked together on the Connecticut, finished with an Ecuadorian Connecticut-seed wrapper.
The fillers in every cigar come from rare, small-lot tobaccos harvested between 2011 and 2016 on the family’s farms in Condega, Jalapa, and Estelí. Those leaves have aged 10 to 15 years, which is why this release cannot become a regular production item. The only size is a box-pressed Gran Figurado measuring 6 × 48/60/52. Each cigar retails for $15 and ships in 50-count cabinets made at Perdomo’s own box factory. Because of the limited tobacco, the company intends to release the series only once or twice a year and is carefully spreading the allocation so more shops can get a few of each variety.
