Gellis Family Cigars is the boutique brand from Kyle Gellis, the founder of Warped Cigars and DROP Cigar Club. It operates alongside Warped and focuses on small-batch, carefully crafted Nicaraguan cigars.
The Heritage No. 50 is the first release in the brand’s new Heritage Series. Debuted at the 2026 PCA Convention & Trade Show, it’s a 5 x 50 robusto made at NACSA in Estelí with a Mexican San Andrés Maduro wrapper over Nicaraguan binder and filler. The line is positioned between a limited edition and a core offering, produced in limited batches throughout the year rather than as a continuous regular-production cigar. The first batch arrived in July 2026.

Review
First Third
Nutty leather notes on the light, with a slight sweetness and pepper on the palate and retrohale. Leather and nutty notes continue. A cedar note starts to come through alongside the leather and nuts, with a slightly salty-sweet finish, light cream notes, and black coffee on the finish. The main notes through the first third are leather and nuts, with just hints of sweetness and cream on the finish.
Second Third
The second third starts with dark chocolate notes and spice, still with some creamy coffee notes and pepper on the finish. Wow! A really big note of dark and milk chocolate comes through with more sweetness, and the spices are still present with cream and pepper on the finish. Leather and chocolate are the primary notes in the second third, still with some cream and pepper on the finish. The cream has grown in the second third. Near the end of the second third, some cedar starts to come back out on the palate and on the finish. By the end of the second third, cedar and chocolate with pepper are the main notes, with some cream on the finish.
Final Third
The final third starts with chocolate and lots of spices, and the faintest, I can’t believe I’m saying it, raspberry note on the finish. Cedar and nutty notes are still there, with more cedar and pepper on the finish than in the second third. Earthy leather and dark chocolate come out in the final third with ever so slight sweetness and anise, with black coffee on the finish. The cigar wraps up with leather, slight dark chocolate, and pepper, with pepper and woody notes on the finish.
I used the included matches to light, so some inconsistency on the burn is expected.
