Domain Cigars Earns Gold Award for Packaging Excellence

Domain Cigars has received a Gold Award for Technical Excellence at the 2026 PIA MidAmerica Graphic Excellence Awards. The recognition was earned together with the company’s production partner, MEDiAHEAD!, and highlights the high-quality manufacturing of Domain’s cigar bands and packaging.

The competition evaluates printed work from many industries, not just cigars. Domain’s entry stood out for its combination of digital printing on an HP Indigo press, copper metallic foil stamping, embossing, and precise die-cutting on peel-and-stick material. The finished bands show clean registration and fine detail at a small scale.

Daniel Lance, co-founder of Domain Cigars, said the design work only succeeds when it can be produced at a high technical level. He praised MEDiAHEAD! for continually refining the process and noted that winning Gold outside the cigar category carries special meaning because the work is judged purely as print craftsmanship. The regional Gold also makes the project eligible for the national Americas Print Awards later this year.

Founded in 2024 by Esteban Disla and Daniel Lance, Domain Cigars produces its cigars at Tabacalera Familia Disla S.A. in Estelí, Nicaragua. Disla is a longtime blender and factory veteran, while Lance brings experience from retail and product development. The brand’s core lines include Neutron, Negentropy, and Entropy, with newer releases continuing to grow the portfolio.

The packaging award arrives alongside another recent milestone: a U.S. design patent for Domain’s custom cigar-box liner. The liner improves humidification placement, helps keep the cigars secure when the box is opened, and strengthens shelf presence.

Together, these achievements show Domain’s focus on both the tobacco and the details that surround it.
