Review
First Third
The cigar opens with a strong peppery, savory aroma and plenty of spice on the retrohale that leans distinctly peppery. Creamy chocolate notes emerge on the palate and finish alongside the spice. The draw is excellent and the aroma remains impressive throughout. As the first third progresses, smoked wood and slight cedar appear. Dark chocolate and spice continue, joined by dark cherry. A slight salted peanut note mixes with the chocolate and spice, while a touch of toffee rounds out the aroma. Flavors settle into a salted chocolate with spicy peanuts profile, not particularly sweet, but the dark chocolate remains clear on the palate and finish.
Second Third
More savory notes develop on the palate while dark chocolate stays present on the finish. The initial pepper has dialed back. Smoke production is excellent with a thick, creamy texture. A slight fruit or citrus note begins to support the spiced cocoa, becoming more noticeable on the finish along with additional cedar. Near the end of the second third a true sweet note appears on the finish alongside lingering spice. Cocoa remains prominent on the palate with spiced smoked cedar. Flavors are enjoyable though not the boldest or most attention demanding. Cedar continues to build, and an orange peel note becomes clearer. Dark espresso notes join the rotation as cedar and chocolate trade the lead. Savory elements mix with dark cherry, while the finish carries pepper, orange zest, cedar, and a slight sweetness. Sweet cedar and recurring orange zest are welcome developments. Smoke output stays consistent and creamy.
Final Third
A fruity passion fruit note appears briefly before spiced cedar returns with orange zest on the finish. Sweet berry and espresso develop, with apricot joining the aroma. Spicy cedar continues, accompanied by an almost wintergreen mint character that transitions into orange zest and white pepper. Salted peanuts or salted chocolate return in the aroma with spice and pepper. At the midpoint of the final third, sweet peppery cedar takes the lead, with cocoa, cedar, and spice continuing to rotate. Slight earthy black coffee notes appear on the finish. Pepper ramps up toward the end, becoming the dominant note with occasional cedar accents. Spiced pepper finishes as the primary impression.Overall
Aroma and draw are consistently strong, and the thick, creamy smoke is a highlight throughout. The profile evolves from peppery chocolate and salted peanut into more complex cedar, citrus/orange zest, espresso, fruit, and savory elements, though the flavors remain more subtle than bold. An enjoyable, well constructed smoke that rewards attention without demanding it.
